4 Days of Upgrades: How We Gave Our First Airbnb, Rosemary, a Major Refresh

Our first property, Rosemary, is where the Breezy Keys story began. To honor that, we have a tradition: every year, we block off time to personally invest in a new renovation, ensuring she remains a top-tier destination for our guests.

This year, we tackled a 4-day, multi-room makeover. Our mission: a full bathroom overhaul and a stylish living room refresh. Here’s how we got it done.

The "Before": A Great Space, Ready for Its Next Chapter

Rosemary was already a wonderful place to stay, but we knew a few key areas could be elevated to the next level of comfort and style. The bathroom felt a bit dated, and the living room was ready for a new look.

Days 1 & 2: The Bathroom Transformation

The first two days were all about the bathroom. The biggest and most impactful job was the paint. Alan took on the ambitious task of painting not just the walls, but the shower tiles themselves. It took four cans of specialty tile paint, but it completely modernized the space without the mess of demolition.

While the paint was flying, Julissa assembled the sleek new vanity. We then installed all-new modern faucets and a brighter light fixture, adding those crucial high-quality finishing touches.

Days 3 & 4: Reimagining the Living Room

With the bathroom complete, we turned our attention to the heart of the home. We added a stunning, tropical-themed wallpaper to create a feature wall that pops. For the seating, we scored a fantastic, lightly-used sofa on Facebook Marketplace and gave it a fresh new look with a stylish cover—a perfect blend of savvy and chic.

The Reveal: Ready for Our Next Guests!

After four days of focused work, the transformation was stunning. Both the bathroom and living room are now brighter, more modern, and perfectly equipped for our guests.
